Sister Ann Therese Reinhart died January 26, 2011, at Mt. Joseph Senior Community in Concordia, KS. She was 86 years old and a Sister of St. Joseph for 52 years. She was born in Carroll, IA on September 12, 1924 to Frank and Lillian Hess Reinhart, the first of four children, and was baptized Mary Maxine. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph, Concordia, KS on September 15, 1957. On March 18, 1958, Maxine received the habit of the Sisters of St. Joseph and was given the name Sister Ann Therese. She pronounced first vows on March 19, 1959 and final vows on March 19, 1962. Sister Ann Therese received a B.A. in French, Spanish, and Education from Marymount College in Salina, KS. She taught in schools staffed by the Sisters of St. Joseph in Salina, Concordia and Manhattan, KS. In addition to teaching, she also taught English as a second language to Vietnamese and Spanish speaking people. In 1993, she retired to Nazareth Motherhouse; later moving to Mt. Joseph Senior Community in 2008. S ister Ann Therese was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters. A Bible Vigil Service will be (was) held January 27, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the Nazareth Motherhouse Chapel with Sister Bette Moslander as the eulogist. The Mass of Christian Burial will be (was) January 28, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the Motherhouse Chapel with Rev. Jack Schlaf presiding. The burial will be in the Nazareth Motherhouse Cemetery. Memorials for Sister Ann Therese Reinhart may be given to the Sisters of St. Joseph Health Care/ Retirement Fund or the Apostolic Works of the Sisters; P.O Box 279, Concordia, KS 66901.
