Steven S. Collette, age 39, Salina, KS, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023 in Lindsborg, KS.  He was born on January 23, 1984 in Hays, KS to Brian E. & Sheila S. (Mendenhall) Collette.

Steven graduated from Salina Central High School in 2002.  He worked maintenance jobs throughout his life at DesignPlast, Viega, Certainteed and several other.  Steven loved spending time at the lake on his boat, and he enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.  He was most proud of being a dad to his beloved son, Cole Brian.

Steven is survived by his son, Cole Collette and Cole's mother, Amanda Collette, Salina, KS; mother, Sheila Crough (Chris Regnier), Park City, KS; step-father, Terry Crough (Kellie), Salina, KS; sisters, Jennifer Giersch (Shannon), Concordia, KS and Rachel Pieschl (Dan), Minneapolis, KS; brothers, Jerod Crough (Jennifer), Salina, KS, Justin Crough & Michael Crough (Jamie), Lindsborg, KS; grandmother, Marilyn Mendenhall, Concordia, KS and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded by his father, Brian; grandparents, Ronald & Phyllis Collette & Clarence Mendenhall; aunt, Joyce Bigler and uncles, Kevin Mendenhall & Greg Collette.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Friday, February 3, 2023 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, KS with Pastor Bob Burns officiating.  Burial will follow at the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Aurora, KS.  Visitation will be Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 1-8 with family greeting friends from 6-8 pm all at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Cole Collette Education Fund in care of the funeral home.  For online condolences, please visit www.chaputbuoy.com.
