Steven Michael Mitchell, age 35, of rural Concordia, went to be with his Lord and Savior in heaven on Tues., Oct. 15, 2013. His death was the result of an accident at his home. He was born on Sept. 6, 1978 in Belleville, KS to Jack & Kathy (Trost) Mitchell.

He graduated from Concordia High School & Cloud County Community College. He was a member of the Huscher United Methodist Church. Steven was the organic gardener for the Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse, a substitute teacher, the Concordia High School Tennis coach and a farmer.

He is survived by his mother, Kathy; sister, Wendy Moulton & hus. Cody, Abilene; brother, Andrew Mitchell & wife Melissa, Powhattan; and many close family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack; grandparents, Carl & Verna Trost & Myron & Sarah Mitchell; aunt, Marymar Stolzenburg & uncle, Charles Mitchell.

The family selected cremation and Memorial services will be at 11:00 am, Fri., Oct. 18, 2013 at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Joe Koechner officiating. Friends may sign the register book from 10 am to 9 pm with the family greeting friends from 7-8 pm, Thursday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the CHS Tennis Club & NCK Teens for Christ in care of the funeral home.
