Susan Champlin was born on November 10, 1940 in Holton, Kansas to Ferris and Rosemary Slater  Whiteman.  She passed from this life on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, Kansas at the age of 67.  S he graduated from Seaman High School in Topeka, KS. She attended the Stormont Vail School of Nursing. She married Ronald W. Champlin on May 7, 1961 in Topeka, KS. He survives the home. She was a homemaker and her family and home was very important. She volunteered her time in various ways in the community. She attended the Wesleyan Church and Grace Bible Fellowship. S he is survived by her husband Ron; sons, Gary Champlin and wife Debra, David Champlin and wife Trisha and Corey Champlin and wife Angela all of Concordia; brothers, David Whiteman, Concordia, Keith Whiteman, Topeka, KS; sister, Melanie Myers and husband Bob, Frankfort, KS; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, Shaun; a grandson, Scott Champlin and her parents.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at the Wesleyan Church, Concordia, Kansas.  Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.  Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM with the family greeting friends from 7-8 PM Tues., June 24, 2008 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.  The family suggests memorials to the Shaun Champlin Memorial Scholarship Fund at Cloud County Community College.
