Susan L. Charest was born on April 29, 1955 in Denver, CO to Lloyd & Paulyne (Kirkendall) Sheets. She passed from this life on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS at the age of 55. Susan grew up in the Denver, CO area until after high school when she moved to Kensington, KS and later Smith Center. She then graduated from Cloud County Community College as an RN. Susan married Randy Charest on Dec. 9, 1986 in Clay Center, KS. Susan was an RN at the Clay County Hospital until Oct. 2004. She was a former member of the O.E.S. of Clay Center. She is survived by her husband: Randy Charest, Concordia, KS; daughters: Jennifer Charest, Concordia, KS & Courtney Charest, Concordia, KS; step daughters: Katrina Charest, Concordia, KS & Lacey Charest, Junction City, KS; brother: Jack Sheets & Phyllis, Colorado Springs, CO & 8 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services will be held at 11 AM, Wed., April 6, 2011 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Concordia with Pastor L. Dean Thompson officiating. The family choose cremation and friends may sign the register book from 8 AM until 5 PM, Tuesday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date. The family suggests memorials to the Kansas Masonic Cancer Research Institute at KU Medical Center in care of the funeral home.
