Theodore Larned (Lar) Eastmond II, age 74, Clifton, Kansas resident, entered into rest on June 30, 2016 at Stormont-Vail Health Care in Topeka, Kansas. He was born in Los Angeles, California on December 9, 1940 to Theodore Larned and Juanita (Seabold) Eastmond I.
Lar graduated from Culver Academies, Culver IN, and went on to attend the U.S. Military Academy. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Southwest Texas University and a Master of Science in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics from University of Texas, Austin.
He married Belinda Rusco in Austin, TX on May 5, 1968, and served in the United States Army National Guard, achieving the rank of Major before his retirement in 1994.
Lar was a member of the L.D.S. Church branch in Concordia, Kansas and a life member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was an avid supporter of developing youth, as indicated by his endless hours supporting the Boy Scouts of America and teaching at community colleges. He was an Eagle Scout. He worked as a computer programmer, and loved camping and caring for animals.
Survivors include his wife, Belinda of Clifton, 2 Daughters, Catherine Juanita Jorgensen, Salt Lake City, UT.; Gwendolyn Exner (Nina), Greensboro, NC; 2 sons, Benjamin Rusco Eastmond (Jaime), Cheyenne, WY.; Jonathan Seabold Eastmond (Natalie), Riverside, CA.; 3 Grandchildren, Nikki, Ethan and Ellie; 1 brother, Anthony Eastmond (Mary Lue), OKC, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Michael Eastmond.
Family has chosen cremation and there will be a memorial service held at a 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Branch Building, 1022 E. 11th St., Concordia, Kansas, with Branch President Clair Hoesing officiating.
On Saturday, at 10:00 a.m., July 30, 2016 a memorial service and Inurnment will take place at the City View Mortuary, 1001 11

Family would like to express heartfelt thanks all who cared for Lar in his last weeks and brought him joy in these times. Staff (and dogs) at Linn Nursing Home, staff at Clay County Medical Center, and ICU nurses at Stormont-Vale Health Care, including Julie and Emilie.
