Thomas "Tom" J. Trost was born on July 10, 1948 to Walter E. & Georgia M. (McLaress) Trost. He passed from this life on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia at the age of 62. Tom grew up in the Concordia area and graduated from Concordia High School. He then served in the US Air Force for 4 years in Germany during the Vietnam conflict. Tom returned to Concordia after the service and was a lifelong area farmer. He married Gwen Chizek on July 12, 1980 in Concordia. Tom was a member of the American Legion Post #76 and Soil Conservation Dist. 12. He is survived by his wife: Gwen Trost, Concordia, KS; daughters: Rhodonna Marcotte & husband Kenneth, Holden, MO & Kimberly McGinley, Daytona Beach, FL; sister: Nettie Bray & husband Jack, Sterling, KS; brothers: George Trost, Topeka, KS & Gerald Trost, Eureka Springs, AR; 4 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded death by his parents. Memorial services will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Rev. Dean R. Frazier officiating. The family chose cremation and friends may sign the register from 9 AM to 9 PM with the family greeting friends from 7-8 PM Wed. at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial of the cremains will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #76 and VFW Post #588. The family suggests memorials to the American Legion Post #76 in care of the funeral home.
