Valborg "Vallie" Hutchinson was born on Oct. 16, 1920 in Beaudette, MN to Rev. Vetle & Emma (Felland) Aaker. She passed from this life on Monday, April 5, 2010 at Sunset Home, Concordia, KS at the age of 89. Vallie graduated from the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Concordia. She married Donald W. Hutchinson on June 25, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA. He preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 1997. Vallie was an registered nurse in Jamestown & Concordia. She was a public health nurse for the county and assisted in the clinic & hospital. Vallie moved to Concordia to Sunset Home in 2005. She was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church, LWML & state & local nursing associations. She is survived by her sons: Don A. Hutchinson, Concordia, KS & Dennis Hutchinson & wife Pam, Smith Center, KS; daughter: Sonja Kobbeman, Lincoln, KS; sisters: Ordelle Aaker, Appelton, WI & Irene Brewer & husband Archie, Carthage, MO; 6 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents; brother, Vincent Aaker; grandson, Brent Hutchinson; daughter in law, Bronwyn "Bron" Hutchinson & son in law, Ted Kobbeman. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, April 9, 2010 at the Concordia Lutheran Church with Rev. David Strommen officiating. The casket will remain closed & friends may sign the register book from 9 AM to 8 PM, Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at the Jamestown Cemetery, Jamestown, KS. The family suggests memorials to the Concordia Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
