Vance O. "Dutch" Braun, age 82, died Fri., May 29, 2015 at Via Christi St. Francis Campus, Wichita, KS. He was born in Lamar, KS to Otto O. & Mary (Moore) Braun.

He graduated from Miltonvale High School and later with a B.A. from Wichita State University in 1960. He married Rosemary Hamel on June 4, 1966 at St. Joseph, KS. Dutch worked for Farm Bureau Insurance for 43 years as an agent and agency manager. He was also owner of Jammers/Tumbleweed restaurant in Concordia. Dutch served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post #76, VFW Post #588, Elks Club, Moose Lodge #1428 & Optimists Club. He was passionate about flying, boating and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, Concordia; sons, Timothy Braun & Tyler Braun (Danita), Concordia; daughter, Gina Bell (Chester), Clemmons, NC; granddaughters, Ava & Zoé Braun, Concordia; step grandchildren, Lindsey, Katie, Leah & Cali; brothers, Gerald Braun, John Braun & Melvin Braun (Linda), all of Miltonvale & sisters, Nadine Wells, Lakewood, CO & Elaine Snavely (Don), Miltonvale.

He was preceded in death by his parents & sister, Persis Palmer.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Wed., June 3, 2015 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Burns officiating and Military Honors by American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588. Cremation will follow the services and private family burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 12-9 PM with the family greeting friends from 7-8 PM, Tues., June 2, 2015 at the funeral home.
