Verla L. (Claycamp) Hill, 68 years of age, of Ellsworth, formerly of Concordia, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014 at Ellsworth County Medical Center in Ellsworth. She was born in Concordia on December 31, 1945 to W. Glenn and Dorothy (Cochran) Claycamp. Verla graduated from Concordia High School. She married Dan Hill on March 10, 1973 in the First United Methodist Church in Concordia with her father, Rev. Glenn Claycamp officiating. Verla and Dan lived in Scottsbluff, Nebraska for 16 years before moving to Concordia 2 years ago and Ellsworth 1 year ago. She was a secretary in several different offices including the Northfield Assembly of God Church and A & L Construction, both in Scottsbluff. Verla enjoyed reading, cross stitch, and visiting with friends in the church. She was a compassionate, caring, and loving person who was a prayer warrior and very active in the Northfield Assembly of God Church in Scottsbluff.
Verla is survived by her husband, Dan of Ellsworth; 2 daughters, Stacy and Tricia of Omaha; a son, Brian of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; 2 sisters, Lois Boettcher and husband Norman of Bennington, Loretta Cudney and husband David of Riverside, California; brother, Kenneth Claycamp and wife Joleen of Cuba; sister-in-law, Diane Paquette and husband Alvin of Concordia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shirley Holechek; and brother-in-law, David Hill.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia with Pastor Len Reimer officiating. Interment will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery east of Concordia. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday, June 30, 2014 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to the Leonard Reimer Ministries in care of the funeral home. Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia is in charge of arrangements.
