Obituary

Virgie Christine Hasenbank, age 74, entered into rest on August 16, 2016 at her residence in Concordia. She was born on September 15, 1941 in Fredonia, Kansas to Virgil and Ruth (Ware) Sexton.

She was a 1959 graduate of St. George High School, St. George, Kansas.

She married Larry Hasenbank on July 4, 1960 in St. George, Kansas. They later divorced.

Virgie was a past owner/operator of Daylight Donuts in Wamego, Kansas. She was also a CMA for Wharton Manor, Aldersgate and Belleville Health Care. Virgie most recently worked as a private Home Health Care Provider up until
she was diagnosed with Cancer in September of 2015.

Virgie was a Girl Scout leader for several years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, puzzles, taking trips, concerts and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and family.

She is survived her 2 sons, Daryl Hasenbank, (Lisa), Manhattan, KS.; Dallas Hasenbank (Lisa), Concordia, KS.; 2 daughters, Dawn Garrett (Roger), Concordia, KS.; Debbie Johnson (Brian), Collinsville, PA.; 3 brothers, Virgil Leroy Sexton (Mary Sue), Lawrence, KS.; Steven Sexton, KY; Chester Sexton, Topeka, KS.; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, William Sexton.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor Al Paredes officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday August 19, 2016 at the St. George Cemetery, St. George, Kansas.

Visitation will be from 9am-9 pm, Thursday, August 18, 2016 with the family greeting friends from 6 pm-7 pm on Thurs., August 18, 2016 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to Meadowlark Hospice care of the funeral home.
