Virginia F. Johnson, 66 years of age, of Concordia, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Kaye Pogue Hospice Center in Salina . She was born on October 15, 1945 in Kingman to Ralph and Nellie ( Carmichael ) Parson.

Virginia is survived by six daughters, Sherry (Larkins) Phillips and husband Tim of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Sandy (Larkins) Hendrix and husband Jim of Abilene, Tracy Collins and husband Joe, Ricki Forshee and husband Dan, both of Concordia, Theresa Kallman and husband Stuart of Maryland, Barbara Zishka and husband Lawrence of Atchison; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Briley of Jacksonville, Florida, Laura Markley of Salina; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Richard on January 21, 1994.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 6, 2012, at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia with Rev. Anita Strommen officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia. Visitation will be held from 12 – 9 PM, Thursday, January 5, 2012 with family greeting friends from 6 – 7 PM in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to the Tammy Walker Cancer Center in Salina or the Kaye Pogue Hospice Center in Salina in care of the funeral home.
