Virginia L. Ross was born on Aug. 3, 1929 in Concordia, KS to Edward & Hazel (Marlow) Huber. She passed from this life on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 at her home in Concordia, KS at the age of 81. Virginia grew up in Formoso & graduated from Formoso High School. She married Dale Ross on June 16, 1947 in Belleville. He preceded her on Nov. 10, 1986. She was a homemaker and also worked as a clerk at Larry's Food Store until she retired. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her sons, Bill Ross & wife Felicia, Concordia, KS & Don Ross, Concordia, KS; daughters: Sheila Lett & husband Burley, Snowflake, AZ & Kathy Sterling, Concordia, KS; grandchildren, Leanna, Terry & Harold Strait, Christy Kunz, Dale Thoman, Max & Tonya Sterling & Andria, Lindsey & Megan Ross; great grandchildren, Amanda Shank, Sara Strait, Alex Brandt, Sadie & Maycee Kunz, Sophie Thoman, Alexis, Kenny & Aaron Sterling, Nevaeh & Dakota Valcoure & Hallie Ross & great great grandchildren, Lucas Inks Strait & Ethan Shank. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; daughter-Sherry Root; parents & step father, Ross Higbee & brothers, Ken, Bill & Clifford Huber. Funeral services will be on Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 at 11 AM at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating. Visitation will be from 1-8 PM Sunday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. The family suggests memorials to Meadowlark Hospice in care of the funeral home.
