Walter "Walt" A. Huber, 74 years of age, of Concordia, passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 18, 2013 at Cloud County Health Center in Concordia. He was born on September 29, 1938 in Ames to Vachel Lee and Laura Arvilla (Wiser) Huber. Walt graduated from Concordia High School in 1956. He then served 2 years in the United States Army stationed in Korea . Walt married Barbara Adams in Concordia on January 11, 1959. He loved fishing on the Republican River , tinkering around at the farm, woodworking, baseball, and KU basketball.

Walt is survived by his wife, Barb; 3 sons, Chris and wife Mary of Great Bend, Eric, Doug and wife Donna, both of Concordia; 9 grandchildren, Caleb, Tom, Erin, Brandon, Josh, Justin, Lexie, Linzie, Lacie; 3 great grandchildren, Keely, Amia, Payton; brother, Bob and wife Pam of Concordia; 2 sisters, Arvilla Hansen and husband Ted of Littleton, Colorado, Marilyn Appleby of Salina; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Lisa; 2 brothers, Frank, Jim; and a sister, Vera Lewis.

It was Walt's wishes to be cremated and have private family memorial services at a later date. A register book will be available to sign from 9 AM to 9 PM Friday, March 22, 2013 with family greeting friends from 6 to 7 PM at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to the City of Concordia to be used towards the Sports Complex in care of the funeral home.
