Wanda Rae (Strait) Cote, 76 years of age, of Concordia, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Cloud County Health Center in Concordia. She was born on June 13, 1937 to George and Georgia Strait. Wanda attended Garden City High School. She married Francis Cote on March 18, 1957 in New Mexico. Wanda worked many years as a CNA at Republic County Hospital, Cloud County Health Center, and Mount Joseph Senior Village. She had a strong passion for bowling and soap operas. Wanda was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Wanda is survived by 2 daughters, Judy Richey and husband Don of Derby, Cindy Cote and significant other Larry Abram of Wichita; son, Rickie Cote and wife Lisa of Wichita; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Bobby Strait and wife Lois of Greensboro, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Virginia Seim and husband Wayne of Concordia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Francis on April 17, 2010; and sister, Rita Brungardt.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Mount Joseph Senior Village Chapel in Concordia with Rev. Brian Lager officiating. Interment will be in the St. Concordia Cemetery in Concordia. Visitation will be held from noon – 9 PM Thursday, January 9, 2013 with a Vigil Service at 6 PM in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to the Mount Joseph Senior Village in care of the funeral home. Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia is in charge of arrangements.
