Warren Lester Ostrom, son of Joseph H. and Della M. (Ganstrom) Ostrom, was born August 21, 1933 in Cloud County, Kansas. He passed from this life Monday, January 18, 2010 at Sunset Home in Concordia at the age of 76 years. Warren was a carpenter for Ganstrom & Johnston and retired in 1996, as a maintenance man for the Sisters of St. Joseph, Nazareth Motherhouse. Warren was a veteran of the United States Army. He was stationed at Ft. Myer, Virginia and was a member of the Military Police that was deployed at Arlington National Cemetery. On March 27, 1960 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Swenson of Concordia, Kansas, who survives of their home. To this union were born Jennifer A. Ostrom of Denver, Colorado and Quintin L. Ostrom of Overland Park, Kansas. Preceding him in death were his parents Joseph and Della Ostrom; sister Dora Hayden and husband Todd; Stanley Ostrom his brother; nephew Dennis Ostrom and niece Connie Harrington. Survivors include Jennifer Ostrom and granddaughter Cara of Denver, Quintin and wife Judy Ostrom and their children, grandson Bailey and granddaughter Shelby of Overland Park; sister-in-law Mabel Ostrom, Concordia; Brother-in-law Russell Swenson and wife Barbara of Moneta, VA; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 22, 2010 at The Baptist Church, Concordia, Kansas with Pastor David Fabrerez officiating. Burial will precede the service, 10:00 AM at Gotland Cemetery northeast of Concordia. Visitation will be Thursday 9-8pm with family greeting friends from 7-8pm at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.
