William "Bill" Kagle, Sr. was born on December 27, 1923 in Concordia, KS to George W. and Lillie E. Kearn Kagle. He passed from this life on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Cloud County Health Center in Concordia,KS at the age of 84. He graduated from Concordia High School. He joined the US Navy and served in the Pacific during WWII as a Corpsman. He married Kathleen Snyder in Concordia, KS.  They were married for almost 65 years. She survives the home. He worked for Cloud Ceramics for 40 years until retiring in 1985 as the shipping manager. He was a member of VFW Post #588 and Concordia Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife Katie of the home; sons, William Kagle, Jr. and Lonnie Kagle, both of Concordia, KS; daughters, Laura Hopkins-Cockroft and husband Richard, Salina, KS, Janet McKenna and husband Kenny, Guthrie, OK and Patsy Tracy, Panama; a brother, Donald Kagle, Horton, KS; a sister, Julia Hickey, Tyrone, OK; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Services will be held at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 23, 2008 with Rev. David Strommen officiating. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 9 PM Friday, February 22, 2008 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, KS with Military Honors conducted by VFW Post #588 and American Legion Post #76. The family suggests memorials to the Tammy Walker Cancer Center.
